1990 964 Engine questions…?
I scored a very low mile 964 engine(20K original miles) at an excellent price, and will install in my 1983SC.
I know I have to do the distributor mod/with new rubber belt and venting.
Are there any other suggested things I could do before installing this engine to my car? Also, this engine has composite(not aluminum) intake runners. When I googgled engines, some have aluminum runners, and other have composite? I find it strange that a 1990 engine would have composite runners(engine # 62M53221).
It also appears to have the DMF setup. Should this be changed to a single? It will mate to a rebuild 915 Tranny.

I live in So. Cal, and will need to find an EXPERIENCED hand in this, not someone trying to do the harness, DME, tach, etc for the first time.

would first check if the s/h engine has no stuck piston rings,specially if it stayed idle a few months.
